Early Life:

Mahirah Abbasi, daughter of a senior Master Mariner, was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan. Due to her Father’s nature of work, she travelled frequently to different destinations. According to her, she didn’t mind travelling regularly; she welcomed it as a new experience and a way to discover various multicultural societies. She was hardly 14 years old when she started her Badminton career. Within no time she gained a lot of success and appreciation and played badminton in national level championships as Pakistan number 3 and won many acclaimed Badminton Titles. She was also a badminton employee of Pakistan WAPDA and an appointed player for the SAF Games, but left her career in sports to pursue her studies. Due to her outstanding skills and strong wits she soon received offers from different industries. For a short while she worked as a creative consultant for a leading event management company and put up many prestigious events for the government and other private sectors. There on, she joined GEO English as a journalist on the entertainment desk and wrote sporadically for the news channel and made many outstanding news packages.

Ms. Abbasi has admitted to being socially awkward as a child, and did not have many friends. The focus of her life was badminton, which she played competitively from a young age. Describing her daily routine in an interview, Mahirah Added, "I would wake up at five in the morning, go for tough physical training under the tutelage of acclaimed coaches, go to school, again go for playing badminton, finish my homework and go to sleep, which left her very little time to socialize with friends and be pro-active. Mahirah Abbasi continued to pursue a career in badminton throughout her school years, and played the sport in national level championships. She also played baseball and throw ball in a few state level tournaments. While concentrating on her education and sporting career, Ms Abbasi also worked as a child model in a few of advertising campaigns. In the twelfth grade she changed focus and decided to pursue her studies and earned a degree in fashion design.

Acting

Tv debut and breakthrough (Oct 2013 onwards)

Mahirah was then approached by many leading channels due to her attractive looks and an enchanting personality, and finally did her hosting debut in 2007 as a host for Masala TV’s Special Eid Transmission with different celebrities and there was no stopping by for her then. Ms. Abbasi then hosted many shows which she also calls her FORTE’, hosted the first ever biggest reality show “DUM HAI” for ARY Digital TV Pakistan and gained recognition and became the new favorite face of the advertisers. She was later on appointed as a host for the biggest Morning Show-“Nadia Khan Morning Show” GEO TV which was aired across the globe in many countries while Nadia was on her maternity leave. Later on she also hosted Nadia Khan’s special segment for Olpers, Social diary show “HUM SAE MILEYE” for HUMTV and so on to playing various roles in serials, ARY Digital’s famous Sitcom "Mein Aur Tum", Tv Soap "Aasman Choonae Do" by Evernew productions.” wedding planner show” ARY Digital, Pakistans first biggest talent show ever “Dum Hai”, hosted “AJJ Entertainment Tonight”, Aaj TV, Special Eid Transmissions. She hosted an award show with Faisal Quershi for TV1. She has couple of shows for Masala TV including special eid transmissions to Music Video's such as Jal's “Moray Piya”, Haroon Rashids, and another Band Saazain. She has done alot of television commercials, like Uni-lever’s Fair n Lovely-Kismet Kae Sitarae (scholarship TVC/Ad), Sprite Zero TVC/AD, Stile Tiles, Government Commercial with an acclaimed Pakistani Director, Asim Raza, Bank Alfalah etc.

Mahirah Abbasi as was always creatively inclined, so she decided to take some time off and launch her own Event Management Company in 2010 under the name CMYK (Pvt.) Ltd and CMYK Services and put forth many successful commercial and corporate events to enchanting wedding setups.

(2013 Onwards)

Mahirah Abbasi being a God gifted person with every ingredient to become a rising star and a polished model was approached by many TV Serial Directors and fashion photographers for her outstanding work and ravishing looks and convinced her to do a comeback on screen.

The First Serial after her come back on screen was “Mere Hum Rahi” for ARY Digital in 2013 and the play received accolades from the press which marked a significant turning point in her career, earning her critical acclaim and appreciation. She also recently recorded a sitcom “Eik Aur Eik Dhaee”, serial “Arranged Marriage” (starting end of May, 2014), serial “Mere Khuwab Lotah Doh (starting after Eid-Ul- Fitar 2014),” and many more.

She has also done lots of print and Fashion photo shoots for different Fashion magazines/Designers and brands and worked with some well known photographers of the fashion industry of Pakistan like Khursheed Masood Fayyaz Ahmed, Akif Ilyas, Haseeb Siddiqui, Hasan 3h, Munna Mushtaq, Shahbaz Shazi. Her fashion shoots include: Ayesha Varsey's limited edition bridal wear for Libas Magazine, international cover and magazine shoot for Samaj Magazine, creative shoots with Depilex for Visage and Libas Magazines, catalogue/cover shoots for Ittehad Textiles, Shabbir Textiles, Shariq Lala etc. She was also a part of the Sindh Festival 2014 Fashion Museum /ramp and walked the ramp with the main show organizer Shehreyar Taseer. She was the MOC for Younus Textiles: event ‘long term service awards 2013’, Telenor “main hoon” live re launch event 2013 , Zong CIO Summit 2013 to name a few successful projects. Mahirah seems to be taking her acting career pretty seriously and is busy recording her new upcoming TV projects to fashion shoots for some renowned brands. Apart from her busy schedule, she has still managed to take some time out and had said yes to host the Upcoming PAS award show 2014, Karachi

Mahirah Abbasi is very intelligent, lively person, and has good communication skills, body language with nice facial expressions, with these qualities she is ruling in the world of hosting. She has hosted in lot of different shows on different Pakistani public and leading private channels like special valentines show Live hosting for PTV, HumTv and a lot of special special Eid transmissions. Mahirah Abbasi is also in event management field, and she is successfully running her own event management company (everything from commercial to private event designing and setups)

Mahirah Abbasi is a true believer of women liberation and often speaks out on women's issues: against female infanticide and feticide, and in support of education for girls. In 2011, "an exclusive evening with world famous maestro Rahat Fateh Ali Khan”" was organized by Mahirah’s own event Management Company “CMYK ( Pvt.) Ltd”; the proceeds were donated to an NGO.
